FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Mooresville, NC (August 30, 2018) – Ross Chastain and Premium Motorsports have never been so excited to show up at the track without a single sponsored decal on their race car! That’s right, you read that sentence correctly!

This weekend at Darlington Raceway, when the #15 Chevrolet Camaro is unloaded, the sponsor less look of that car will have a very special meaning! This race car will represent and honor every single independent driver and race team who put all their time into working on their underfunded and unsponsored race cars. It is a throwback to those who spent every dollar they had in their pocket just so they could come to the race track to be able to take the green flag and then fight as hard as they could to take the checkered flag every time it dropped! It is a throwback to all those who participated on a very limited budget over the years and enabled NASCAR to put on a great event as well as give millions of race fans a reason to cheer for the underdog.

“This is a very different and unique kind of throwback we are doing but nonetheless it’s a throwback to a lot of great people who helped mold our sport to what it is today. There are so many drivers and teams who showed up with nothing on their cars, but they were just as important and mattered just as much to the history of NASCAR as those who did show up fully funded. I have driven for underfunded teams in my career and I completely understand what it takes and the kind of hardships these teams go through just to make it to the track. I have a lot of respect for them and I’m proud to give them all a shout out this weekend in Darlington. I want to let them know that they have not been forgotten about and each and every one of them are very worthy of this kind of ‘less is more’ throwback tribute.”– Ross Chastain
