Phoenix Air, based approximately 35 miles northwest of Atlanta, Georgia at the Cartersville-Bartow County Airport (KVPC), is a unique, international aircraft services company that offers solutions to a wide variety of air transportation and related aircraft service needs of industry and government.

What sets Phoenix Air apart from other air charter companies is its scope, versatility and professionalism.  Phoenix Air is not just an air charter company – it’s a company with a long tradition of finding solutions to client needs…sometimes air charter, sometimes modifications to airframes, sometimes unique military training requirements, sometimes bringing diverse parties together aimed at forging solutions to complex requirements.  Phoenix Air is a total solutions package for its clients.

An FAA-certificated Part 135 airline with worldwide operating authority, Phoenix Air provides passenger service for U.S. and Allied Governments, worldwide air ambulance service and high priority air cargo service – including the transport of explosives and dangerous goods.  Its military contracting wing is the world’s leading provider of contracted airborne electronic warfare and weapons training/testing services for the United States Department of Defense, NATO and foreign military forces.  The company also operates a Flight School and FBO at the Cartersville-Bartow County Airport.

Phoenix Air’s success in worldwide air ambulance services is the blending of the company’s two decades of international flight operations with the very highest caliber of patient medical care and equipment.  Every flight is carefully monitored by both its highly proficient air operations staff and trauma room-intensive care unit medical staff, led by an ER-trained medical doctor.

Whether a routine hospital-to-hospital transfer, or urgent lifesaving evacuation flight from a foreign land, Phoenix Air stands ready to respond to critical patient needs.  Phoenix Air air ambulance jets are dispatched to the far ends of the earth routinely…China, Mongolia, Siberia, all of the Pacific basin and New Zealand, throughout South America including Punta Arenas at its southernmost tip, all of the Atlantic basin including Ascension Island, every country in Europe, the Middle East, the Far East, all of Africa, and throughout Russia.

Spread across three-quarters of a mile adjacent to the Cartersville-Bartow County Airport, Phoenix Air’s five large maintenance hangars and two office buildings are home to over 190 technical and aviation specialists who maintain the company’s 50 plus aircraft (including Gulfstream, Learjet and Embraer aircraft), operations dispatch center, corporate administration, and pilot corps.  All Phoenix Air pilots are full-time employees and all aircraft are owned and operated by Phoenix Air.

Launched in Atlanta, Georgia in the 1970’s and soon thereafter incorporated as Phoenix Air Group, Inc., the company has grown tremendously from a small local charter firm flying two vintage Beech 18’s to a multi-faceted air operator with global capabilities.

The company, founded by Atlanta natives, is named after the Phoenix, a mythological bird of ancient Greek lore which graces the official Great Seal of the City of Atlanta.  Phoenix Air moved from an Atlanta-area municipal airport to Cartersville, Georgia in 1984, where today it controls approximately 85% of the land at the Cartersville-Bartow County Airport under long-term lease.  It is here that Phoenix Air has its high security facilities, maintenance, operations and headquarters staff.
