Gase and The Lisa Colagrossi Foundation are excited to announce they are teaming up together to spread awareness for brain aneurysms; which Gase’s mother, Mary, suddenly passed away from in April 2011. Lisa Colagrossi, a well-known TV journalist for ABC News, suffered a sudden brain aneurysm while on assignment in New York City in March 2015. Lisa’s husband, Todd Crawford, started the foundation to bring awareness and has emerged as the leader of awareness and education of brain aneurysms in the United States.

Being Gase’s first Brickyard 400, he is excited to have The Lisa Colagrossi Foundation on the car. He will also be honoring those who have suffered a brain aneurysm, including his mom and Lisa, on the car with colored ribbons. Konrad Reuland, former NFL player for the Ravens and Jets, will have his picture adorn on the hood of Gase’s #15 Premium Motorsports Chevy. Reuland was 29 years old when he suffered a fatal brain aneurysm on November 28, 2016.

“I am really excited to be making my first Brickyard 400 start for multiple reasons,” said Gase. “Spreading awareness for brain aneurysms is extremely important as many people to do not know the warning signs or symptoms. It’s estimated that as many as 5% (15 million) Americans or 1 out of every 25 people have an undiagnosed brain aneurysm, while an estimated 40,000 rupture each year. The Brickyard 400 was the first Cup Series race I attended when I was young and I went yearly with my grandparents, who were season ticket holders.”

You can watch Joey drive The Lisa Colagrossi Foundation #15 live on NBC at 3:00 pm EST.

ABOUT THE LISA COLAGROSSI FOUNDATION (www.lisafoundation.org)

The Lisa Colagrossi Foundation (TLCF) is a non-profit organization that has emerged as the leader in awareness and education for brain aneurysms in the United States since it was founded in 2015, months after the death of its namesake. Within months of its launch, TLCF was credited with saving its first life, and many more have followed. In 2017, the organization launched “Lights On, Lights Off,” the first-ever national consumer public awareness campaign to educate Americans on the risk factors associated with brain aneurysms. The campaign was developed in response to the industry’s very first national survey sponsored by TLCF indicating that brain aneurysms may be up to 50 percent more common in women and nearly 100 percent of women surveyed didn’t know the warning signs..

The ‘Brickyard 400’ will take place on Saturday, July 23rd at 3:00PM ET. Race fans can tune-in to NBC for race coverage and follow @premiummotrspts on Twitter for updates throughout the weekend.
