Troy Stafford is a practicing attorney in Charlotte North Carolina. With over 23 year of experience, he is a civil litigator who focuses his practice on business, construction, and insurance disputes, as well as, representing individuals or families who have suffered catastrophic injury or wrongful death. He practices in both State and Federal courts. He also represents several NASCAR teams and individual licensees regarding their contracts, sponsorships and business endeavors.


Troy is a 1986 graduate of Louisiana State University and obtained his Law Degree from Campbell University in 1991. He is a member of the North Carolina Bar Association, The Mecklenburg County Bar Association, and the Bar for the U.S. District Court for the Western District of North Carolina, and the U.S. Court of Appeals 4th Circuit. He is also a member/master of the American Inns of Court and a member of the North Carolina Advocates for Justice.

Troy has been recognized by his peers for his professional achievement and rated as one of the Top Attorneys in North Carolina, as published in Charlotte Magazine in 2012-2014 and listed as Highest in Ethical Standards and Professional Excellence in The Legal Network 2013. He has also been recognized for his legal abilities and selected as a Super Lawyer for three consecutive years, 2012-2014, by his colleagues and peers and as published by Reuters/Thomson. In 2013, the SBIEC presented Troy and the firm with the North Carolina Excellence Award for outstanding legal services. Troy has also been recognized by the North Carolina Advocates for Justice for outstanding service, and presented with the Kellie Crabtree Award for outstanding representation that helped protect people’s rights in 2011.

Troy volunteers with various community service organizations, including serving as President of the Board of Directors for the Ronald McDonald House of Charlotte, North Carolina in 2012-2013. For 2013-2014 he served as Immediate Past President and is currently a Board Member.
